About Me

My name is Sarah and I'm a sophomore at Segerstrom High School. Honestly, I've probably already been labeled as one of the most boring, unoriginal people in the world for using that sentence as my opening line, but... okay I've got nothing. I'm feeling uninspired. And count in the fact that I'm typing this while I'm sort of half-asleep and all stressed out at eleven P.M. just adds up to a recipe for disaster.
Uh. I'll edit that later.
(I probably won't.)
Anyways, I'm a very creative and interesting person once you get to know me and I have a lot of hobbies outside of the classroom. Some of them are: tennis, reading, writing, playing the violin... and the piano... and the guitar--music, in general, is a major part of my life and I have no idea where I would be without it. I'm in an orchestra outside of school and hope to take that class in my junior and senior years. Point being: I am overly attached to my violin. I think the slang word for that would be "OrchDork".
As a student, my favorite class is usually my math class. I will have to adjust a little to my Math Analysis class since it's a flipped classroom and I'm taking it with students that are primarily a grade above me, but I think I will do well once I've settled and gotten all my extra work turned in. The reason I enjoy math compared to all my other classes is because in that class, there is usually only one right answer. What's 1 plus 1? 2. It won't be anything else. Math is simple and not as abstract as my other classes, such as language arts or history. I don't know. I guess seeing the black and white stuff in the world and not getting too over-complicated with things is what I usually go for (is that a bad thing? Yes.). However, I do think I will also like chemistry, merely because I find learning about the different elements interesting and whenever I think about that subject I always get an image of something blowing up in a spectacular mushroom cloud, which probably will not happen during labs at all, but it's fun to imagine. It's a connotation thing, I guess.
I usually learn the best when teachers give me visuals or let me experiment with things myself, hands-on (huh, I suppose that's another reason why I'd like chemistry). When a teacher presents a problem to me on the board, I would do my best to figure it out. If I failed, I'd pay attention to the teacher's explanation on how to solve it and take notes. Learning from my mistakes is most efficient way to process information and really think about it afterwards.
I'm pretty sure that's it... well, I'm looking forward to a great school year with Mrs. Kirch and all my fellow classmates in Math Analysis!
(I'm not very good at closing statements either, as you can obviously tell. Bye!)
(Oh, and excuse me for the incredibly weird title of my blog. The song it refers to was stuck in my head, not that I listen to it on a daily basis.)
